I am in the process of creating a workshop on creating a WordPress blog. At this point in my career, I’ve started to see a little more clearly that I have a process that has to happen when I am learning a new tool. I am not completely new to blogging or to WordPress, but it is a large program, full of twidly bits, so it feels overwhelming to me and I wonder how in the heck that I am going to organize a workshop that is useful and wraps up in 3 hours time! But I think that this feeling is an important part of the process for me as a teacher. This low grade frustration with a new product and the subsequent clearing of the fog gives me important insight into what my students will feel as they approach it. I usually figure out a way to organize the key information that they need to walk away from the class with something useful in hand. Here’s hoping that happens again!
